Here's a synopsis and cast list from AMG: Roy Rogers saves Dale Evans from being hoodwinked by a rodeo competitor in this pleasant, and pleasantly tuneful, B-Western from Republic Pictures. Due to the mismanagement of old-timer Gabby Whittaker (George "Gabby" Hayes), The Brooks Rodeo is about to be gobbled up by competitor Frank Madden (Richard Powers aka Tom Keene), who also has designs on pretty owner Marjorie Brooks (Evans) herself. But when Gabby hires Roy Rogers and the Sons of the Pioneers as the new headliners, Madden and his henchman Ken Ferguson (Roy Barcroft) are forced to commit a bit of sabotage. With the aid of Trigger, "The Smartest Horse in the Movies," and radio announcer Marty Maizely (Lloyd Corrigan), Roy and Gabby manage to the goods on Ferguson and prevent Marjorie from marrying the sleazy Madden. Featuring early silent screen star Claire Du Brey as Dale Evans' faithful housekeeper, Lights of Old Santa Fe also presents such pleasant musical divertissements as Jack Elliott's title tune, Tim Spencer's "Trigger Hasn't Got a Pretty Figger", "I'm a Happy Guy in My Levi's Britches" and "Cowpoke Polka", and Ricardo Lopez Mendez' "Amor". This is the shorter TV version. Good dupewith some minor pre-print wear and a few pre-print splices. A tad dark. Vinegar Syndrome: No sign of vinegar . Notes on Color: Color ratings are generally subjective. Here are the ratings I use: · IB Technicolor/Kodachrome – These are dye transfer processes that should never fade · Lowfade – this print is on a stock that will not fade for a long time · Excellent color – print that is not on a low fade stock but shows no signs of fading · Very Good color – print that has a slight shift, but retains most of its color. It may have a slight redish/pinkish/brownish cast to it, but has strong color. · Good Color – has a noticeable shift, but still maintains much of it’s color. Also knows as ‘Warm’ · Fair color – Has shifted substantially to Red/Pink but still has blues and greens in it. · Pink/Red – Print has turned mainly to pink or red, there may be some greens and blues left, but not much.
