Description
'60 Angel -- Little White Lies -- Full Network print This is a 16mm B&W/sound film print of an episode of what has to be one of the funniest TV sitcoms ever made. I was literally on the floor laughing watching this. The show revolves around Angelique (Angel for short - played by Annie Farge), a young French girl who comes to the USA to marry an American architect named John Smith (Marshall Thompson). The show makes extremely good use of the language and cultural differences that someone from another culture might face. The show also has a large amount of slapstick humor which reminds me at times of Monty Python crossed with Buster Keaton. Here's a summary of the episode -- Johnny wants to go to the prize fight, but tickets have been sold out for ages. His boss calls him and asks him to come listen on the radio and he accepts. But right then, George arrives and has two tickets. So Johnny needs a way to get out of going to his Boss' without him finding out and wanting the tickets for himself. So, he concocts one story after another and it gets worse and worse, as he tells the boss that Angel's friend Mrs Spiegelman (a german jew) is actually her French mother who is visiting. This gets totally out of control as Mrs Spigelman speaks yiddish to him (he wonders why her French is different from Angels). In the end Johnny invents an accident for the "mother" and ends up not being able to go to the fight.... Funny show! . This print is a full network print and has the following: Brought to you by Johnsons Wax Glade commercial - animated with a wacky Russian (sounds like Boris Badenov) who wants to use Brand X Johnson's Jubilee Post 10s - great ad with Chimpanzees!!! CAST Spot at end for Pledge -- basically a continuation of the show with references back to the plot. Andy Griffith show - bump. CBS Network TV logo.
