From a very tenderly cared for private collection.  PERHAPS THE FINEST DOCUMENT EXISTING THAT TRACES THE HISTORY OF THE AMERICAN SILENT FILM.  "Hollywood: A Celebration Of The American Silent film."  13 VHS Volumes.  Running time is approximately 11 hours.  Produced in the early 80's for Thames Television. Many, many silent film directors, stars and producers (and more) were still alive to participate in this production. With a glorious music score and wonderful narration by James Mason, this would be a wonderful gift for any alumnus to donate to his or her university or film school.  Any film buff would surely treasure this cinematic masterpiece.  Not available on DVD in North America (as of this date).  There might be a few laserdiscs floating around but I've never actually seen one.   This is the authentic Thames Home Video/HBO Edition.  Each volume has its own original, studio produced sleeve.
