Difficult to find as it appears to be no longer available. I purchased this copy 4 or 5 years ago brand NEW from the estate of Emile de Antonio website, it has been viewed 3 or 4 times since that time and is in excellent to nearly new condition. Label has slight crease down the center, which is how it came.I used to take this movie out from a public library (I've watched that copy and my own for a total of about 12 viewings) - and decided to purchase my own copy when I moved to another city. I no longer have a VCR, or a television for that matter, so I'm selling it off. This film is an incredible resource for anyone interested in Modern Art, painting and creativity or Art History in general. It is safe to say that another film of this magnitude, one that brings together interviews from nearly all the major artists and luminaries of America's most important art period, will never be produced again. Indeed it is a time capsule that begins with the birth of the American Modernist movement (Abstract Expressionism), continues into Pop Art and ends up speculating upon the next new direction with artists such as Frank Stella and Larry Poons searching for new avenues within the Modernist framework. Insightful interviews with the artists in their studios are interspersed with interviews with important critics (Clement Greenberg who defined the American Modernist aesthetic) and even art dealer Leo Castelli.
